人々がミロンガへ行くときに、決定権になる要素は・・・
Essiencial elements that influence the locals to go to a milonga:
1. Entrada $$$ (Price) 値段
2. People 集まる人
3. Organizer 主催者
4. Location 場所
5. Time Frame 時間
6. Music 音楽
といったところでしょうか・・・・。
6の音楽は当然といえば当然。いい音楽じゃなきゃ踊りがさえないし。
#6 ofcourse. Music is part of tango. If music sucks, forget it.
5は平日のアフタヌーンミロンガは割りと現地人が集まるミロンガが多く、平日の夜は外国人だらけのミロンガが多かったりします。
現地人は普段の日は働いています(リタイアした熟年ミロンゲロを除く)から・・・・。
#5 It mattars with the locals as people are supposed to work on weekdays (except retired old milongueros), so at afternoon milongas you see lots of locals but not at evening milonga on weekdays.
For old milongueros, they can't stay up too late as they are old. LOL
Lots of turists and foreigners come at those evening milongas on weekdays.
#4 if it is too far out of the center, you don't want to pay so much for taxi.
Subte and colectivos (subways and busses) are essencial.
Lots of ladies love to go to a milonga "Elegant", which is in the building, an really old but nice space with architecutual atristry.
It doesn't matter if you get to a good dance or not, but without any doubt, you just feel so great and elegant just going there.
Another thing to consider is what is the floor made of.
Wooden floor feels better than marbel.
Personally I am not crazy about an outdoor milonga (so windy, cold, hot, no seats, sandy ground, no floor, and so on).
#3 Organizers of a milonga are like a host and hostess at a party.
Personality is important.
Some of my friend who live here, told me they don't like to go to a milonga on a certain day at milonga "banana"because they don't like the organizers even though on another day of a week they always go to the same milonga place but by another organizer.
For VIP milongueros, dancers at a milonga is almost same as their family.
If they don't like them, bye-bye.
#2 It's similar to #3 but a milonga is a place where friends get together, and they want to dance with their favorite dancers.
That's why they pay precious money.
Milongas where good dancers come are always busy.
Ofcourse depending on the crowd of milonga, the styles of tango dance are different, for example,
Where young people hang out---nuevo tango
Where foreigners come a lot---more elegant styles, foreign styles
Where locals get together---milonguero style
Where gays are accepted---guys dance together, too.
#1 money money money$$$
In Argentina, most people are not upper-middle class, but lots of people are still struggling with everyday life as they had the serious economic crisis not long time ago.
For local people, acceptable entrada price would be from 5 to 8 pesos.
I heard some milongas where lots of foreigner hang out cost 30 pesos,(around US$10) which is the same price as in US but the value of the money is 3 times here.
Local people cannot afford to go to such milongas.
You will see only foreigners and tango teacher fishing foreigners if the entrada is more than 10 pesos.
I heard a story from my friend, a rich milonguero (it is very rare to see such a rich man in milongas).
"If they raise the price of entrada even by 1 peso, local people will not come!
They are so poor and don't have any money.
They cannot afford to buy drinks and they drink water from a tap in a bathroom!"
